Service Deposits
A credit history is requested through Online Utility Exchange on all water and electrical customers prior to connection of any service. The deposit amount is based on the credit score of each customer. Any customer requesting that a credit report not be used will be charged the maximum deposit for each service. All deposits will be applied to the customer’s account upon termination of the service. Any overage will be refunded after a complete settlement of all billings.
Deposits apply to all residential dwellings unless otherwise noted.

Late Fee – Each bill is due when rendered and shall become delinquent if not paid on or before the 10th day after the date of the billing. A penalty charge of $1.00 per service will assess on the 11th day of the month. On the 16th of the month, a penalty of $10.00 or 10% of the balance, whichever is greatest will assess. Services will be terminated on the 21st for any unpaid balance in excess of $10.00.

You may pay your bill by walk-in, drive thru, night deposit, bank draft, mail or pay online. We accept cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. We DO NOT accept payments over the phone.
Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) – This program is administered by the organized Community Action Program (OCAP) with funding directly from the Sate of Alabama. If you obtain assistance from OCAP, please remember to bring a copy of your voucher to our office to ensure proper credit on your account.
Project Share – Administered by the American Red Cross.
Touchstone Energy Home Program – With high priority on energy efficiency, the Utilities Board of Opp seeks to recognize customers who strive to make their homes more energy-efficient. you can browse the Touchstone Energy Home Website at www.touchstoneenergy.coop
Energy Audits – The Utilities Board of Opp, in cooperation with PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, will perform energy audits upon request. We also make new home visits to advise customers about efficient and proper use of electrical appliances and equipment. Please contact our office for more details.
Water Heater Program – Qualified homes may be eligible for a free high-efficiency water heater from the Utilities Board of Opp. Call our office for more details.
Surge Protection – Plan now to protect your valuable computer and home entertainment equipment from the damage lighting and power surges might cause. The Utilities Board of Opp features a Whole Home Surge Suppression program that includes a meter base device and individual plug-in devices that can be used throughout your home.

100-watt security light is $5.77 per month plus tax
250-watt security light is $12.85 per month plus tax
400-watt security light is $19.76 per month plus tax
